It has come to my attention that I mentioned clock spider in my post yesterday, but didn't link to anything and/or explain what that was. For those of you who have managed to avoid this lovely internet story until now, I am sorry. For those of you who live in Australia or other parts of the world where this spider lives, I am even more sorry. I suggest moving somewhere cold where this particular brand of spider can't live. Anyway, for those of you who are curious, this is the clock spider.
The comments are even better than the clock spider story, my favorite being the first one:
"I woulda removed the clock.. not by taking it off the wall, but by setting my house on fire and never living anywhere near that location ever ever again." Agreed.
Also, I suggest not looking up more information on the huntsman spider, as you'll learn horrifying things like "They are able to travel extremely fast, often using a springing jump while running, and walk on walls and even on ceilings. They also tend to exhibit a "cling" reflex if picked up, making them difficult to shake off and much more likely to bite." OMFG I may never sleep again. How have these things not turned up in a Stephen King book yet? Seriously?
In other unsurprising news, doing a google image search for "huge centipede" is also a bad idea. This picture is still making me itch, a full day after seeing it. See also, OMFG CENTIPEDE.
And now that I have successfully scared away everyone who reads my blog, I shall be off. I promise my next post will not be anywhere near this gross.
